That Cost Me A Steak!

I am so disappointed.

I made the most amazing breakfast this morning. The kind of breakfast that sticks to your ribs, and keep you full for hours and hours. The pictures looked fabulous, or at least I thought they did. I thought I was taking pictures and then discovered later in the day that I did not actually take the pictures!

It started this morning, when my husband asked if there was anything for breakfast. OK, this totally shocked me, as he does not eat breakfast, but hey, if you want me to cook, I’m in!

I thought this was perfect! I need to make a big breakfast this morning as I also had a big day planned with my son. We were spending the day at the museum, so we needed the kind of breakfast that carries you all day long.

It started with fried potatoes and onions, Some ham thrown in, herbs, and topped with a mixture of cheeses and green onions. Along side some over easy eggs topped with fresh parsley and fresh avocado slices on the side. It not only tasted amazing, but seriously kept us full all day long. 6 1/2 hours, even walking through the whole museum. So, sorry, no pictures, only description.

Now I will have to write about something else this evening.

So, I was asking myself the other day. “I wonder if anyone else compares the cost of things in food”?

I mean, for instance, today, the parking downtown cost us $11. I quickly do the math and figure what that can buy in groceries. Dang! That can buy me some nice Atlantic Salmon.

Sometimes I compare costs of things to coffee, or milk, or some other somewhat inexpensive things, but when things get crazy expensive, I can’t help but think “That’s a pound of scallops!” (I love scallops). That’s a steak dinner! I could buy some Lamb Chops!

Well, you get the picture. Is anyone else like this? I hope others think that way too. Otherwise, I will feel a little odd sharing this story with you. ๐Ÿ™‚

Tomorrow Iย will share my Fat Tuesday meat loaf recipe.

A photo from today at the museum. Ha! I made my son put his head close to the skull to get the perspective on size. Clearly, he’s not happy with me ๐Ÿ™‚ I really wanted his head in the mouth. Even bribing him with food didn’t work ๐Ÿ˜‰

It was a super fun day. Afterwards, we ended up grabbing a bite to eat downtown at a Moroccan restaurant. Didn’t think about groceries all day ๐Ÿ™‚
